Basketball games and ice cream trucks are just the tip of the iceberg for the BPD. On Wednesday, January 31, 2017, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans spoke at the YearUp graduation ceremonies. YearUp is a year-long program for young adults with exceptional motivation but few resources during which they learn and apply work skills and receive job experience. During his time with the students, the Commissioner encouraged the graduates to foster change by building partnerships with their communities, much like the BPD strives to do through community policing. Congratulations graduates!
