ONE LESS GUN: Ever Vigilant BPD Officers Arrest Gun-Possessing Suspect Wanted in Connection to Call for Shots Fired Two Days Prior

At about 2:15 pm on Monday, February 20, 2017, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of 39 Amherst Street in Roslindale when officers observed a motor vehicle wanted in connection to a call for shots fired which had occurred two days prior in the area of Harvard & Bernard Streets. Upon seeing the vehicle, which was occupied by four individuals, officers promptly activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. Fearing the presence of a firearm while simultaneously acting in the best interest of officer safety, officers instructed all of the occupants to exit the car. While conducting a pat frisk on one of the passengers, officers discovered and recovered a firearm found in the suspect’s waist area. After a brief altercation, officers were able to subdue and apprehend the suspect. Officers arrested a 22-year-old male from Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way.
