At about 1:05 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) were responding to a call for shots fired in the area of Parkman and Adams Streets in Dorchester when officers observed a motor vehicle, described as a Nissan SUV, fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. Given the vehicle’s suspicious activity and close proximity to the call for shots fired, officers activated their lights and sirens in an effort to stop the car but were unsuccessful after losing sight of the vehicle in the area of Popes Hill Street.
A short time later, officers spotted and stopped the car in the area of 7 Fox Street. Fearing the presence of a weapon or weapons, officers ordered both occupants to exit the car. Officers promptly observed that one of the occupants appeared to be bleeding from a gunshot wound to the ankle while the second occupant appeared to have a laceration to his ear. Both were transported to an area hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officers later received information confirming the vehicle’s involvement in the earlier call for shots fired in the area of Parkman and Adams Streets.
A search of the suspect’s motor vehicle enabled officers to locate and seize two firearms (see photo). Officers charged two men, a 20-year-old male and a 23-year-old male from Boston, with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and the Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
