Investigation Update: Boston Police Arrest Suspect in 2015 Murder at Arbour Hospital

At about 2:00 PM on Friday, August 4, 2017, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested 41-year-old Hameen R. Edwards of Dorchester on an active straight warrant for Murder out of Suffolk Superior Court. Edwards was wanted for the 2015 murder of 50-year-old John Duggie of Framingham.

On July 2, 2015, staff members at the Arbour Hospital at 49 Robinwood Avenue, Jamaica Plain found Edwards kneeling over the victim Duggie who had suffered a wound to his head. One month later, Duggie succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Almost exactly two years later, after an extensive investigation, the suspect, Edwards, has been arrested and will answer to the charge of Murder on Monday, August 7, 2017.

Said Police Commissioner William Evans, "This shows that my detectives never forget a single victim. Whether it takes two days or two years, they work extremely hard every day to bring justice for the victims and their families."
