ONE LESS GUN: At about 2:34 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for drug activity which resulted in the arrest of one male and the recovery of a loaded firearm in the area of 20 Ames Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle with a rejected inspection sticker. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the operator to inform him of the violation. While speaking to the operator, officers observed the rear passenger who appeared to be sleeping. Officers spoke to the rear passenger who appeared to be extremely nervous, with his chest visibly moving up and down. Officers observed a knife clip in the operator’s waistband and removed him from the vehicle. Officers then asked the rear passenger to exit the vehicle. At this time, the rear passenger refused to exit the vehicle, locked the door and rolled the window up. Officers observed the male clutching an item on the right side of his waistband. Officers repeatedly asked the male to exit the vehicle which he refused to do. Officers observed the male to be holding what appeared to be a firearm. Officers eventually were able to remove a loaded KelTec CNC INC PF-9 caliber Luger firearm and multiple rounds of live ammunition from the male’s pants pocket following a lengthy struggle. The male was placed under arrest. The male is identified as Robert Roscoe, 27-years-old, of Dorchester. The operator was issued a MA Uniform Citation and released from the scene with no further incident.
Roscoe is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Resisting Arrest, Armed Career Criminal Level III. Roscoe is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
