Suspect in Custody After Victim Struck with a Firearm During Incident in Downtown Crossing


At about 7:57 PM on Monday October 1, 2018, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 17 Winter Street in Downtown Crossing. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim with a head injury. The victim stated that he had been approached by a male suspect who struck him with a silver revolver before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. District Detectives conducted an investigation which led to the identification of Adelson Lovensky, 20, of Dorchester, as the suspect wanted in connection to this incident.

At about 10:20 PM, officers located and arrested the suspect in the area of 128 Tremont Street at which time they recovered a camouflaged knife, an undisclosed amount of cash along with a large bag of marijuana and packaging materials consistent with the selling of illegal drugs.

The suspect will appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Carrying a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.
