Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Four Following Unarmed Robbery Downtown

 

At about 8:31 PM on Sunday, October 28, 2018, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a fight inside of the Roche Bros Supermarket at 8 Summer Street, Downtown. Upon arrival, officers observed staff members and security following a small group of males and females attempting to flee the store. Officers assisted the staff and spoke to the four individuals. While speaking with the uncooperative members of the group, who had made multiple attempts to flee the area, officers learned that a victim had remained on scene.

Officers spoke to the victim who stated she had been robbed of her cell phone by the group earlier in the day and then subsequently attacked again by the group while inside of Roche Bros. The victim stated the suspects had assaulted her before one of the members stole her wallet and fled. Officers placed four individuals under arrest. Shantez Cole, 20-years-old, of Dorchester, James Isaac, 22-years-old, of Chelsea, Aleigha Fernandes, 24-years-old, of Chelsea, and Kaylee Rock, 21-years-old, of West Roxbury.

Cole and Fernandes are both charged with Unarmed Robbery, Assault and Battery, Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Isaac is charged with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery, and Rock is charged with Disorderly Conduct and Receiving Stolen Goods. All are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
