Suspect in Custody After Officers Respond to the Sound of Shots Fired and Locate Shooting Victim in Dorchester

At about 11:35 PM on Saturday October 6, 2018, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to the sound of gunfire while on patrol near the Fabian Gas Station located at 528 Washington Street in Dorchester. Officers soon located an adult male victim in his early 60’s suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries which are considered to be life threatening at this time. Officers initiated an investigation and determined that a male suspect had approached the victim, who was working at the gas station at the time, and shot him during what appears to have been an attempted robbery. A detailed suspect description was then given out to additional units who had responded to canvass the area. A few minutes later, officers located and stopped an individual matching the given description and placed him in custody after being positively identified. The suspect, Kevin Williams, 21, of Dorchester, will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Attempted Robbery.
