Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Juvenile and Recover Loaded Firearm in Roxbury


At about 11:15 PM on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 15-39 Dabney Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers were met by the victims who stated they had been shot at. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and began to search the area. Officers located a male matching the description of the suspect walking down the street with his right arm pinned to the side of his body. Officers attempted to approach the male who immediately began to run away from officers. Following a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended in the area of 120 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Officers recovered a Jennings Bryco Arms firearm loaded with one round of live ammunition inside of the suspect’s front right pocket. 

Officers arrested a 16-year-old male juvenile of Mattapan and charged him with Delinquent to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Firearm Discharged within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
