Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Officers Recover a Firearm Following the Arrest of a B&E Suspect in Roxbury

ONE LESS GUN: At about 10:57am, on Thursday, November 29, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force responded to a call for a person breaking into an apartment building in the area of 58 Annunciation Road in Roxbury. On arrival, officers entered the location and observed a black male walking down the stairwell. When asked if he lived in the building, the individual stated he was just visiting. Officers promptly noted that the individual appeared to be nervous given fact that he appeared to be sweating profusely. Officers further noted that the individual was shielding his body in such a way as if to suggest he was attempting to conceal something or was possibly in possession of a firearm. Fearing the presence of a weapon, officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect. Upon doing so, officers felt what they believed to be a firearm (see photo) in the back of the suspect’s waistband. After recovering the firearm, later determined to be a black Taurus Judge 4510 revolver, officers arrested a 35-year-old male from Brockton and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and the Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
