One Less Gun: Officers Follow Blood Trail to Recover Firearm and Make Arrest

At about 9:30 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for an unknown problem in the area of 34 Annunciation Road. Upon arrival, officers observed a trail of blood on the floors and walls near the entrance to the building, as well as a strong odor of bleach coming from inside the building. Officers followed the trail of blood and canvassed the hallways looking for the source. Officers were led to a residence on the third floor, and when they knocked on the door, they were greeted by 26-year-old Stephon Nedd of Roxbury, who reported two of his family members had been involved in an altercation then fled. Officers conducted a protective sweep in the apartment for any additional victims during which they observed ammunition and a firearm in plain view on a bedroom nightstand. Officers seized the loaded Millennium G2 9mm firearm and additional ammunition and demanded Nedd’s license to carry. When Nedd reported he did not have one, officers arrested him and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number.
