Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Wanted Suspect in Custody after Stealing Motor Vehicle with Dog Inside in East Boston


At about 9:51 AM on Sunday, May 6, 2018, officers assigned to District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a call for a stolen motor vehicle in the area of 16 Trident Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that her Hyundai Santa Fe had just been stolen by an unknown male suspect and that her dog, a friendly yellow Labrador named ‘Chief’, was still inside the vehicle. Earlier today, members of the Everett Police Department located the stolen vehicle along with the unharmed dog which has since been reunited with his owner. At about 5:53 PM on Monday May 7, 2018, BPD officers located and arrested David Brady, 50, of East Boston, who was wanted in connection to this incident after a foot pursuit which originated at the Bremen Street Community Park in East Boston and concluded in the area Brooks Street and Paris Street. The suspect was placed in custody thanks to the efforts of numerous responding BPD officers and the assistance of members of the MBTA police. The suspect will appear in East Boston District Court on numerous charges including Larceny of a Motor Vehicle and Resisting Arrest.
