UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Relation to Death Investigation in the Area of 112 Southampton Street in Boston

Less than 24 hours after a homicide in broad daylight, Boston Police detectives have made an arrest in the case. The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Correa of Worcester, was arrested at about 9:40AM, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 for the stabbing death of 50-year-old Edward Sanchez of Boston. Correa will be charged with Murder and is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Thursday, May 10, 2018. 

Said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, "I commend the Homicide Unit detectives for their quick action; their diligence in the first hours after the incident allowed them to make this arrest of a very dangerous suspect."

The facts of the incident are as follows:

At about 12:07 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for a person stabbed in the area of 112 Southampton Street in Boston. On arrival, officers located a male victim in his fifties suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim, suffering life-threatening injuries, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
