BPD Officers Arrest Suspect for Burglary in a Construction Site Located in South Boston

At about 7:51 PM on Monday, June 4, 2018, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 520 Dorchester Avenue. Upon arrival officers observed a white male with a red jacket, later identified as Andrew Sullivan, 30 of Haverhill, standing on the sidewalk next to a chain link fence leading into a construction site. It was reported that the suspect was observed inside the fenced area with several power tools slung over his shoulder. The suspect was also observed prying open a section of the fence where he managed to squeeze through onto Dorchester Avenue where police officers encountered him.

Officers observed several power tools just inside the fence behind the suspect. After further investigation, officers spoke with the owner of the construction site and confirmed that the suspect did not work for the company, did not have permission to be on the construction site, and all power tools were originally stored on the second floor of the structure.

Officers arrested Sullivan and charged him with Breaking and Entering, Attempted Larceny and Trespassing. Sullivan will be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
