MEDIA AVAILABILTY/PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: Boston Police Department and Cops for Kids with Cancer Bring Children from Pediatric Oncology Units for a Boat Ride on the Harbor

WHO:            Boston police officers and members of Cops for Kids with Cancer, children from the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Mass General Hospital and Tufts New England Medical Center
 
WHAT:          Tomorrow, Thursday, July 19, 2018, officers and Cops for Kids with Cancer will treat children from the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Mass General Hospital to a ride on a police boat with the Boston Police Harbor Patrol Unit. On Wednesday, August 1, 2018, children from the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Tufts New England Medical Center will also be given an opportunity to ride on the BPD boats. The children will also receive a police escort from each hospital to the Harbor Unit base.

WHEN:          Both nights, Thursday July 18 and Wednesday, August 1, at about 5:30 PM children will board BPD vans and be escorted from the hospital to the BPD Harbor Patrol Unit base.

WHERE:       Thursday, July 19 – BPD motorcycle units and vans will meet at Mass General Hospital, Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care and escort the children to BPD Harbor Patrol base at 9 Terminal Street, Boston, MA 02210

Wednesday, August 1 – BPD motorcycle units and vans will meet at Tufts NEMC near the Teddy Bear Statue on Washington Street and escort the children to BPD Harbor Patrol base at 9 Terminal Street, Boston, MA 02210
