Making a Difference: BPD Commissioner Evans Visits with the Campers at the Ron Burton Training Village

Today, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans traveled west to visit the kids at the Ron Burton Training Village in Hubbardston, MA to workout, run, and speak to the campers about his life and his role as the leader of the Boston Police Department and a leader in the community.

Created by Ron Burton, Sr., a number one NFL draft choice and the first ever draft pick of the New England Patriots, the Ron Burton Training Village is a five-week camp that helps youngsters develop physically, mentally, and spiritually through athletics. As an avid runner and marathoner, Commissioner Evans fit right in with the campers, running a relay race and telling them about how running and reading have enriched his life and career. The Commissioner reminded all the campers, as he does his all his officers, to “stay in the books and always make time to exercise!”
