BPD Bids Farewell to Commissioner William Evans and Superintendent Kevin Buckley

BPD Bids Farewell to Commissioner Evans and Superintendent Buckley: Today, Thursday, August 2, 2018, members of the Boston Police Department, both civilian and uniformed personnel, gathered in the Media Room at Boston Police Headquarters to say goodbye and good luck to both Commissioner William Evans and Superintendent Kevin Buckley, two of the department’s really good guys both calling it a career and retiring after close to four decades of protecting and serving the citizens of Boston. Said Commissioner William Evans, “It’s a bittersweet day. I feel so fortunate to have been surrounded by so many good people and so many dedicated police officers. I mean it when I say it, the Boston Police Department is the best police department in the country. When it comes to community policing, nobody does it better. And, I say all the time, my success as a Police Commissioner came as a direct result of all the hard work and long hours put in by my officers and civilian personnel. I loved the job. I’m gonna miss the work. But, I’m really gonna miss the people.”
