One Less Gun: BPD Officers Arrest 17-Year-Old Suspect After Recovering Loaded Firearm During Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 6:13 PM on Monday August 20, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested a 17-year-old male from Randolph after recovering a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in the area of 37 Larchmont Street in Dorchester. Officers had stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic infraction when they discovered a loaded 9mm Ruger EC9S handgun on the floor of the rear passenger area where the suspect was seated. Officers were able to recover the weapon and place the suspect in custody without incident. The juvenile suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.
