Keeping Boston Safe: Community Member Surrenders 2 Rifles to BPD Officers in Roxbury: Earlier today, Tuesday, August 21, 2018, a concerned community member with an appreciation for public safety approached an officer assigned to the District B-2 Community Service Office looking to surrender two rifles, along with several high capacity magazines, that he discovered and felt uncomfortable having in his home. The officer was more than happy to oblige the request and thanked the community member for a decision that certainly makes our city safer. The rifles recovered included (1) a Stevens Model 77F 20 Gauge Shotgun and a (2) a Commando Mark .45 Cal Semi-Automatic Rifle.
