One Less Gun: BPD Youth Violence Strike Force Officers Arrest Three Suspects While Recovering Three Loaded Firearms During Three Separate Incidents in Less than Nine Hours

FIREARM SEIZED DURING INCIDENT #1

INCIDENT #1: At about 7:30 PM on Friday August 24, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Allen Lopez, 27, of Hyde Park, as part of an investigation after performing a traffic stop in the area of 46 Alwin Street in Hyde Park. Officers had stopped the suspect for a traffic infraction and removed him from the vehicle at which time they performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded .380 caliber Walther PK380 handgun with an obliterated serial number from the suspect’s front waist band area. Officers then placed the suspect in custody without incident. The suspect will appear in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.

INCIDENT #2: At about 2:30 AM on Saturday August 25, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Donta White, 21, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges as part of an investigation in the area of 17A Livingstone Street in Dorchester. Officers located and approached the suspect in a driveway next to the address at which time they performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded .32 caliber Kimel Model 5000 revolver. The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

INCIDENT #3: At about 3:43 AM on Saturday August 25, 2018, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest of Joquentz Constant, 22, of Dorchester, after responding to a call for shots fired in the area of Columbia Road and Seaver Street. While on approach, officers observed the suspect walking quickly on Columbia Road while clutching at the waistband area of his pants. Officers stopped their vehicle and were preparing to exit in order to speak with suspect when he suddenly took off running. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and were closing in on him when they observed him pull a firearm from his waistband and discard it on the sidewalk. The firearm was later recovered and determined to be a loaded .32 caliber Regent revolver with an obliterated serial number. Officers were able to place the suspect in custody after a brief but violent struggle. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number and Resisting Arrest.
