Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Three Suspects in Custody After BPD Officers Respond to Two Separate Breaking and Entering Calls

INCIDENT #1: At about 10:00 AM on Monday August 27, 2018, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) placed two suspects in custody without incident after responding to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 379 Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay. Officers were advised that the suspects had gained entry by utilizing a stolen master set of keys while posing as maintenance workers employed by the building management company. On arrival, officers arrested one suspect, a 59-year-old male from Medford, as he exited the building and arrested the second suspect, a 30-year-old male from Cambridge, a short distance away near Charlesgate East. Both suspects have since been arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Breaking and Entering and Possession of Burglarious Tools.

INCIDENT #2: At about 4:52 PM on Monday August 27, 2018, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested John Davis, 27, of Roxbury, after responding to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 15 Armstrong Street in Jamaica Plain. While on approach to the scene, officers were advised that a male suspect had attempted to break into an apartment through a first-floor window but had fled the area on foot after being alarmed by a resident. Responding officers quickly located a suspect matching the given description on Chestnut Avenue and placed him in custody after he was positively identified by a witness. The suspect will appear in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Attempted Breaking and Entering, Attempt to Commit a Crime and Disturbing the Peace.
