One Less Gun: Suspect in Custody After BPD Officers Recover Loaded Firearm During Investigation in the Back Bay


At about 8:34 PM on Thursday August 30, 2018, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Tarique Richardson, 22, of Roxbury, on firearm related charges during an investigation in the area of 399 Boylston Street in the Back Bay. Officers were informed that the suspect was in possession of a firearm and approached him to investigate. Officers performed a pat frisk which led to the safe recovery of a loaded .38 caliber Taurus revolver from the suspect’s waistband. The suspect was placed in custody without incident after officers confirmed that he did not possess a license to carry a firearm. During the booking process, officers recovered several counterfeit bills from the suspect’s wallet which were seized as evidence. The suspect will appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number and Possession of Counterfeit Notes of Bank Bills.
