National Night Out Celebrates Powerful Partnership Between Cops and Community Members that Leads to Safer Neighborhoods: Some phenomenal photos highlighting and capturing the partnership and festive feeling of togetherness that saturated this year’s National Night Out celebration, a 2-day event that visited all twelve police districts around the city. At each stop, Mayor Marty Walsh and Commissioner William Gross thanked community members for their ongoing support and backing of the men and women of the Boston Police Department and made a point to acknowledge and recognize some of the top Neighborhood Watch groups in the city. While the BPD takes tremendous pride in its nationally-recognized and renowned community policing efforts, the men and women of the BPD know full well that our success is a team success. And, our ability to fight crime and reduce fear is directly related to the strength and energy of the relationship that we enjoy with those we’ve taken an oath to protect and serve.
