Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Quick Response by BPD Officers Leads to Arrest After Armed Robbery in Roxbury

 

At about 7:19 PM on Friday August 31, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for an armed robbery at gunpoint in the area of 280 Humboldt Avenue in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located and adult male victim who stated that he had been approached by a male suspect who displayed revolver and directed him into an apartment building hallway. The suspect then robbed the victim of his wallet, cellular phone and several personal items before fleeing the scene on foot. Officers were provided with a detailed description of the suspect which included what appeared to be an electronic monitoring device on his right ankle. Responding officers were able to track the suspect to an apartment inside 167 Homestead Street at which time, members of the BPD SWAT Team made contact with the suspect after converging on the address and placed him in custody without incident. While on scene, officers observed property that belonged to the victim in plain view inside the apartment. The suspect’s apartment was secured pending the issuance of a search warrant. The suspect will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Armed Kidnapping, Armed Robbery and Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon.
