At approximately 10:53 PM on Monday, September 10, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of 643 Walk Hill Street in Mattapan. Upon arrival, officers were met by the female victim who stated that she had been robbed of her purse and stabbed in the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital. Officers spoke with the victim who provided a description of a suspect. Detectives immediately recognized the description as that which had been provided by previous victims of similar robberies in the area. Concurrently, area detectives and officers were searching the area for the fleeing suspect. Detectives were able to locate a male matching the description of the suspect who was in possession of a knife. Further investigation led to the arrest of Walker Browning, 25-years-old, of Mattapan. Based off of the description provided and the similarities to prior robberies of female victims, several of whom had been stabbed, detectives were able to identify Browning as the suspect.
Browning is expected to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court on charges of Armed Robbery, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, and Intent to Rob While Armed.
