ONE LESS GUN: At about 12:41 AM on Monday, September 17, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Burrell Street and Clifton Street in Roxbury. While on patrol in the area of Norfolk Street, officers observed a black motor vehicle operating at a high rate of speed. Officers followed the vehicle in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. Initially refusing to stop for officers, the operator of the motor vehicle made several quick turns in an attempt to evade officers who were operating with their lights and sirens activated. Eventually, the motor vehicle came to a stop in the area of Burrell Street and Clifton Street. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke to the occupants. The operator and passenger were removed from the motor vehicle. The passenger appeared to be visibly nervous, breathing heavily and sweating. A search of the area yielded the recovery of a loaded black Smith & Wesson Bodyguard firearm as well as five additional rounds of live ammunition in the area of 66 Burrell Street. The operator Eric Small, 28-years-old of Cambridge and the passenger, London Cohen, 29-years-old of Everett, were both placed under arrest. Small is charged with Failure to Stop for a Police Officer. Cohen is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

Both suspects to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
