One Less Gun: K-9 Assistance Leads to Recovery of Illegal Firearm in Dorchester

ONE LESS GUN: At about 6:55 PM on Monday, September 17, 2018, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for a person with a gun in the area of 754 Morton Street in Dorchester. While en route to the location, officers received information via BPD Operations providing a description of a male carrying a firearm accompanied by two other males. Officers arrived on scene and observed a group matching the descriptions provided who immediately fled on foot upon seeing the officers approaching. Officers pursued the fleeing males and were able to stop and identify all three.

Officers arrested one of the individuals, Ronney Fullard, 28, of Amesbury, after determining that he was wanted on an outstanding felony warrant. Assisted by BPD K-9 Duke (see photo), officers searched the area where the suspects had fled and recovered a loaded Springfield Armory .45 caliber handgun and 13 rounds of live ammunition which were later determined to have been reported as stolen out of North Carolina. The firearm was turned over to the BPD Firearms Analysis Unit for processing.

Fullard will appear in Roxbury District Court for an active felony warrant of Larceny from a Building.
