Officers Arrest Suspect in Nonfatal Shooting in Roxbury


At about 2:18 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 56 Julian Street in Roxbury. Upon arrival, officers observed the male victim suffering from an apparent gun shot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim has since been upgraded to critical condition at the time of this post. Homicide detectives conducted an investigation which led to the arrest of Cezar Mendes, 20, of Boston.

 Mendes is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. 

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
