BPD Officers Arrest Suspect Wanted in Connection to Non-Fatal Shooting in Roxbury

 

SIGNIFICANT ARREST: At about 6:24 AM on Monday September 24, 2018, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 724 Shawmut Avenue in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim in his mid-fifties suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was able to provide officers with identifying information and a detailed description of the suspect before being transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim remains hospitalized at this time with injuries which are considered to be non-life-threatening.

At about 10:15 AM, officers located the suspect, Ismail Abdurrashid-McCullum, 50, of Roxbury, in the area of 171 Townsend Street and placed him in custody without further incident.

The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Firearm Discharged within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
