Commissioner Gross Appoints Four New Members to the BPD Command Staff

On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, Boston Police Commissioner William G. Gross welcomed four new members to his Command Staff. Commissioner Gross promoted Sergeant Detective Michael Stratton, a 30-year veteran previously assigned to the Homicide Unit, to the rank of Deputy Superintendent in the Office of the Police Commissioner. Lieutenant Kevin McGoldrick, 29 years of service, previously assigned to Special Operations Group, was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of the Bureau of Field Services. Sergeant Detective Kenneth Gaines, 23 years of service, previously assigned to the District B-3 Drug Control Unit, was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of the Field Support Division. Sergeant Detective Sharon Dottin, 21 years of service, previously assigned to the Internal Affairs Division, was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of the Family Justice Group. Said Commissioner Gross, “I am more than excited to welcome these new members to the Command Staff of the Boston Police Department. Each of these officers have the experience and dedication it takes to dutifully serve the City of Boston to the fullest and I look forward to watching them thrive in their new positions.”
