BPD Photo of the Day: Houston Police Chief Sends Texas Sized Lunch to Commissioner Gross as Payment for 2018 ALCS Agreement

Boston Police Headquarters - Thursday January 24, 2019: As we move closer to another heavily anticipated Super Bowl featuring the New England Patriots, we look back on an historical 2018 season for the Boston Red Sox which concluded with a World Series victory over the L.A. Dodgers. Prior to the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros, Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo made a friendly wager with Boston Police Commissioner William Gross with the loser set to provide a meal featuring local fare from their respective city to the winner after the series conclusion. True to his word, Chief Acevedo sent an amazing lunch spread today from Houston area Tex-Mex favorite, Molina’s Cantina. Chief Acevedo even went above and beyond, stepping into the kitchen to help prepare the food himself. We congratulate the Houston Astros for a great ALCS and thank Chief Acevedo and our brothers and sisters at the Houston Police Department for staying true to their word, paying their debt and giving us the big surprise of a Texas sized lunch here in Boston.
