Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Officers Recovery Two Loaded Firearms and Drugs During Investigation in Hyde Park

ONE LESS GUN: At about 3:25 PM on Wednesday February 13, 2019, officers assigned to the District E-18 (Hyde Park) Drug Control Unit arrested Branden Barrett, 30, of Canton on firearm and drug related charges during a traffic stop in the area of 792 Truman Parkway in Hyde Park. The officers had stopped the suspect after observing a street level drug transaction at which time they were able to safely recover two guns, one being a loaded .40 caliber Springfield Armory handgun and the other a loaded .380 caliber Ruger handgun. Additionally, officers recovered one plastic bag of heroin packaged for sale from inside the vehicle. The suspect will appear in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2 Counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs and Armed Career Criminal Level 1.
