Investigation Update: Male Suspect Wanted for South End Assault and Battery Turns Himself in to District D-4

Investigation Update: At about 4:05 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, officers at the front desk of District D-4 (South End) arrested a male who had turned himself in for an assault and battery which took place on February 9, 2019 in the area of Harrison Avenue and Fay Street. The individual, identified as Michael Kenney, 40-years-old, of Weymouth was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for charges of Assault and Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury and Assault and Battery. 

The facts of the original incident are as follows: The original facts and circumstances surrounding the incident are as follows: At about 2:45 AM on Saturday, February 9, 2019, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a person screaming for help in the area of Harrison Avenue and Fay Street in the South End. On arrival, officers observed an adult male victim lying on the ground in a semi-conscious state. The male was then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers spoke to witnesses on scene who provided a description of a group of three white male suspects who were alleged to have assaulted the victim, punching him multiple times, before slamming him into the ground. Officers canvassed the area for the suspects to no avail.
