At about 2:30 AM on Sunday, March 3, 2019, officers observed an individual acting in a suspicious manner while in a motor vehicle located at Warrenton Street and Stuart Street, Downtown Boston.

The individual had been sitting in the driver’s side of the idling parked motor vehicle for a long period of time. Officers asked the individual to identify himself several times but he refused by not responding to officers. Officers requested the individual to exit the motor but he continued to ignore the officer’s requests. As officers were attempting to obtain information from the individual in question, they noticed what appeared to be a firearm under the driver’s side seat. At this point the individual who was later identified as Michael Okoye, 34 of Randolph, was placed under arrest and charged with refusal to submit to a Police Officer. Officers determined that the firearm recovered from under the suspects seat was a faux .45 caliber BB Gun depicted in the photo.

Michael Okoye was placed under arrest and charged with refusal to submit to a Police Officer. He will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
