BPD in the Community: Commissioner Gross Had a Wonderful Time Reading to the Students at the Tobin School in Roxbury

BPD in the Community: Earlier today, Friday, March 8, 2019, Commissioner Gross was honored to spend some quality time reading to the kids at the Maurice J. Tobin School in Roxbury as part of the school’s new ‘Read to a Child’ initiative. The program is intended to pair Boston Police Officers with students across the city as one-on-one mentors. The Commissioner thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with Ms. Valentin’s first grade class while reading the Dr. Seuss classic, The Cat in the Hat, while simultaneously sharing a few laughs, high fives and hugs along the way. Special thanks to Ms. Valentin, her students and to all the faculty at the Tobin School who went out of their way to make our Commissioner and our officers feel so warm and welcomed.
