Keeping Boston Safe: Suspect Facing Charges after BPD Officers Take Another Gun Off the Streets of Boston: At about 2:20pm, on Friday, March 8, 2019, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force were conducting surveillance as a result of information received relative to an individual believed to be in possession of an illegal firearm when officers observed the individual inside a motor vehicle in the area of 8 Crossman Street in Mattapan. After the individual was instructed to exit the motor vehicle, a pat frisk of the suspect enabled officers to locate a firearm (see photo) found in the suspect’s right pants pocket. When asked to produce a license to carry the firearm, the suspect stated, “I don’t have one.” The firearm, which was loaded, was determined to be a Ruger .380 Auto model LCP with four live rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

Officers arrested Lifaite Pierre, 19, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Mr. Pierre is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on Monday, March 11, 2019.
