BPD Photo of The Day: Hagerty Family Delivers Cookie Basket in Honor of Late BPD Officer Dan Hagerty

BPD PHOTO OF THE DAY: Today, Thursday, April 11, 2019 —in tribute to her late husband Officer Dan Hagerty— Marney Hagerty delivered a cookie basket to all the districts Officer Hagerty served in during his career.

Boston Police Department Officer Dan Hagerty was appointed on October 7, 1970. He served at several districts before retiring in the Boston Police Explosive Ordinance Unit. Officer Hagerty had served with the Boston Police Department for 33 years and later passed away during his retirement on April 11, 2017.

Two of Officer Hagerty’s daughters accompanied their mother on the delivery tour. Their final stop was the Commissioner’s Office at Boston Police Headquarters, where Commissioner Gross was honored to personally accept the thoughtful gift; while assuring the family that the the memory of their father and husband will live on within the Boston Police Department.
