Officers Arrest One Male Suspect on Armed Robbery Charges in Brighton


ROBBERY ARREST: At about 3:05 AM, on Friday, April 12, 2019, officers assigned to District D-14 (Brighton), responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Harvard Avenue in Brighton.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect, later identified as Tyquan Harris, 29, of Boston, grabbed the taxi driver’s money, cell phone, and credit cards, then fled on foot down Linden Street towards Commonwealth Avenue.  Officers apprehended the suspect a short time later in the area of 48 Harvard Avenue, recovering a cell phone and credit cards, which was all property of the taxi driver. Also seized from the suspect was a black folding knife.  Officers observed a Harris’ brown wallet in the back seat of the taxi which contained a counterfeit $100 bill.

Tyquan Harris was placed under arrest and charged with Armed Robbery (Taxi), and Possession of Counterfeit Notes. He will be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
