One Less Gun: Officers Arrest Male and Recover Loaded Firearm, Drugs, and Cash Downtown

One Less Gun: At about 8:36 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) made an onsite arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 34 Bromfield Street, Downtown as part of an ongoing investigation. While on patrol in the area of the above location, officers observed a group of individuals known to them from prior interactions. Officers spoke with one of the individuals and observed a large folding knife protruding from the male’s jacket. While attempting to remove the knife, officers felt a heavy, weighted object which they immediately recognized as that of a firearm. Officers removed a Glock 22 .40 caliber firearm loaded with six rounds of live ammunition from the male’s jacket. Additionally, officers recovered 12 plastic bags containing marijuana and an undisclosed amount of US Currency.   

Officers arrested Fernando Villalona-Torres, 21-years-old, of Roxbury. Villalona-Torres is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs. A query of the suspect revealed multiple active warrants for charges including Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs, Assault and Battery, Vandalism, and Intimidation of a Witness.
