Keeping Boston Safe: Search Warrant Leads to One Arrest, Recovery of Firearm, Drugs, and Cash in Mattapan


Keeping Boston Safe: At about 12:45 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit executed two search warrants resulting in one arrest in the area of 1023 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan. As a result of the search warrants, officers recovered the following items: a Smith & Wesson model 3904 semi-automatic firearm loaded with 5 rounds of live ammunition, four rounds of live ammunition, multiple plastic bags containing crack cocaine, and an undisclosed amount of US Currency. 

Officers arrested Nelson Thomas, 43-years-old, of Mattapan. Thomas is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Firearm Violation with Three Prior Violent Crimes or Drug Offenses, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
