Officers Arrest 17-Year-Old After Motor Vehicle Stop Results in the Recovery of a Loaded Firearm in Dorchester

 

ONE LESS GUN: At about 12:42 PM, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted a traffic stop in the area of 615 Warren Street in Dorchester. While on patrol in the area of the above location, officers discovered a motor vehicle operating with revoked insurance. In light of the infraction, officers activated their emergency equipment and stopped the motor vehicle to further investigate the incident. While approaching the vehicle, the two male occupants were observed attempting to hurriedly to exit the vehicle. After being instructed to remain inside the vehicle, all of the occupants quickly complied. Officers notified the operator that the insurance of the motor vehicle was revoked and that they would be towing it as a result. The males were then safely removed from the vehicle. Officers subsequently located a Jimenez Arms INC T-380 firearm loaded with four rounds of live ammunition. The firearm was inside of a jacket which the passenger had been sitting on. The passenger was taken into custody. The operator was released from the scene but is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Revoked Insurance and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs. 

Officers arrested a 17-year-old male of Dorchester who is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm.
