One Less Gun: At about 5:23 PM on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) made two arrests and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 1186 Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan. While on patrol in the area of 1212 Blue Hill Ave, officers noticed two males who observed the officers and immediately hurried away from them. Officers followed the males and observed them to be loitering in a “No Trespassing” area barring all unauthorized entry. Officers continued toward the two males who immediately fled upon seeing officers. Officers observed one of the males throw a small bag onto the roof of one of the businesses in the area. At this time, officers gave chase and pursued the males on foot into a local business at 1186 Blue Hill Avenue. The two suspects then fled the area again, but were both located and secured a short time later as officers and detectives continued their investigation into the bag which had been thrown onto the roof of the businesses at 1186 Blue Hill Avenue. Inside of the bag, officers discovered a Glock 26 .9mm firearm loaded with nine rounds of live ammunition. The firearm was safely removed from the roof with the assistance of the Boston Fire Department.

Officers arrested Kerry Charlotin, 29-years-old, of Hyde Park and Jabrill Andrews, 26-years-old, of Mattapan. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. Andrews is charged with Trespassing while Charlotin is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Trespassing.
