UPDATE: BPD Investigators Track Down Suspect Wanted in Connection to Early Afternoon Shooting in Roxbury

UPDATE: Less than two months after responding to a call in which a stray bullet found its way through a store front window in the area of 1400 Tremont Street in Roxbury, the individual who fired the shot is behind bars. At about 1:46pm, on Friday, April 12, 2019, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for shots fired at 1400 Tremont Street. When they arrived, in addition to observing a damaged storefront window, officers located and recovered a shell casing on the sidewalk in front of the store. After a lengthy investigation, detectives were able to locate and arrest Eugene Parrish, 22, of Boston. While reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, detectives learned that the stray bullet did, in fact, have an intended target who fortunately escaped the incident without injury. Today, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force and Fugitive Apprehension Unit located the suspect in Charlestown and placed him under arrest. Parrish is charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of Building.
