Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Male for Attempted B&E in Roxbury

Daily Dose of Great Police Work: At about 1:58 AM on Saturday, May 4, 2019, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite arrest in the area of Warren Street and Copeland Street in Roxbury. While on patrol in the area of Blue Hill Ave and Moreland Street in Roxbury, officers observed a male leaning against a shutter door at 67 Blue Hill Avenue (Roxbury Energy Gas). Due to recent incidents of both commercial and residential burglaries in the area, officers decided to approach the male. As officers arrived at the business, the male was no longer in the area. Upon further investigation, officers observed a large pair of bolt cutters attached to the lock and the lock appeared to have been cut. Officers recovered the bolt cutters and searched the area for the male they had seen earlier. Officers located the male a short distance later and placed him under arrest.

Officers arrested Trevor Walthall, 53-years-old, of Mattapan. Walthall is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Possession of Burglarious Tools, Attempted Breaking and Entering, and Attempt to Commit a Crime. A query of Walthall revealed an active warrant issued out of Roxbury District Court for Breaking and Entering a Building with Intent to Commit a Felony.
