At about 11:02 p.m., on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) made an on-site firearm arrest of Terrence Wilkins, 28, of Boston, in the area of 103 Arch Street, Downtown Crossing.

While on patrol in the area Summer and Arch Streets, officers’ attention were drawn to a motor vehicle —discovered to have revoked insurance coverage. As the officers approached the vehicle they observed a male, later identified as Terrence Wilkins, 28 of Boston, exit the vehicle and begin walking in the opposite direction back toward Summer Street. Wilkins made eye contact with the officers and then began running, while cradling the left side of his waist band area.

Officers were able to apprehend Wilkins without incident and recovered from his person: a loaded Taurus G2c 9mm handgun with one live round in the chamber; along with a high capacity feeding device with seventeen live cartridges inside.

Terrence Wilkins will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on the following charges: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Resisting Arrest
