Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Fenway


At about 3:30 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of 835 Huntington Avenue in Boston. Officers spoke to the victim, a livery driver, who stated he had picked up a fare in the area of 12 Boyd Street in Dorchester. The victim stated he drove the male to the area of St. Albans Street to complete the fare. The victim stated the suspect attempted to pay the victim with a counterfeit one-hundred-dollar bill, which the victim refused to accept. The victim stated the suspect removed a firearm from a small bag he had been carrying and demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phones. The suspect took the victim’s property and fled into the Mission Park Complex. Officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail. 

District B-2 (Roxbury) Detectives were assigned the case and hastily began their investigation, obtaining the identification of the male suspect. Detectives were subsequently granted an arrest warrant for the suspect. 

At about 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2019, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite warrant arrest of the suspect, Uhmari Bufford, 24-years-old, of Dorchester, in the area of 500 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.  

Bufford was arrested on an active warrant out of West Roxbury District Court for Armed Robbery.
