Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Officers Confiscate Firearm During the Warrant Arrest of a Suspect Wanted in Connection to Armed Robbery: About 1:34 pm, on Friday, June 28, 2019, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of 82 George Street when they observed an individual known to have an outstanding warrant relative to an armed robbery that occurred less than a week earlier on American Legion Highway in Roslindale. Upon seeing the suspect, officers promptly approached and placed the suspect under arrest. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover a firearm (see photo) later determined to be a loaded, black Glock 27 firearm with nine rounds of .40 caliber ammunition. In addition to the firearm, the suspect was found to be in possession of large amount of a brown powder believed to be heroin which was wrapped in plastic and covered in tinfoil. In addition to the warrant, the suspect, Alexander Soto, 21, of Boston was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying Loaded Firearm on a Public Way and Trafficking Class A Drugs (Heroin). The suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on Monday, July 1, 2019.
