Two Suspects in Custody After BPD Officers Recover Loaded Firearm and Drugs During Traffic Stop in Dorchester

At about 10:43 PM on Tuesday June 4, 2019, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested two suspects on firearm and drug related charges during a traffic stop in the area of 566 Columbia Road in Dorchester. Officers were on routine patrol when they stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. During the course of their investigation, officers were able to safely recover a loaded 9mm SCCY CPX-2 handgun from inside the vehicle at which time both the operator, Junior Dorelas, 28, of Brockton and the passenger, Jeffery Anitus, 30, of Brockton, were placed in custody without incident. The firearm was later determined to have been previously reported stolen in York, Maine. Additionally, officers were able to locate and seize several hundred Xanax pills from inside the vehicle as well as a plastic bag containing 11 grams of Fentanyl from Dorelas.

Both suspects will appear in Roxbury District Court on multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class C Drugs and Receiving Stolen Property. Dorelas will also be charged with Trafficking Class A Drugs and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent).
