One in Custody After BPD Officers Recover Loaded Firearm During Traffic Stop in Jamaica Plain

At about 9:50 AM on Wednesday June 5, 2019, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) made an onsite firearm arrest during a traffic stop in the area of 130 Heath Street in Jamaica Plain. Officers were on directed patrol near the Bromley Heath Housing Development when they stopped a motor vehicle for an equipment violation. Officers removed the operator, Kaleab Geberemeskeale, 21, of Roxbury, after they learned he did not possess a valid driver’s license. As the officers were preparing to tow the motor vehicle, they recovered a loaded 9mm Kel Tech P-11 Luger handgun from inside the vehicle at which time the suspect was placed in custody without incident. The suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
