Officers Arrest One Following Stabbing and Armed Robbery in Dorchester

 

At about 5:30 PM on Saturday, July 20, 2019, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call to assist Massachusetts State Police for a person stabbed in the area of 695 Columbia Road in Dorchester. On arrival officers were directed to a crime scene in front of the above location, the adult male victim having been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds. Officers were provided with a description and eventually located a male who matched the description in the area of 8 Allstate Road. The male was identified as the suspect and subsequently taken into custody. 

Officers responded to the hospital to speak with the victim who stated he was sitting in the park in the rear of 695 Columbia Road when he was approached by the suspect who was known to him. The victim stated the suspect pulled out a knife and began stabbing the victim before taking his possessions including the victim’s passport and identification as well as an undisclosed amount of US Currency.

Officers arrested Bernardino Baran-Garcia, 26-years-old, of Boston. Baran-Garcia is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Robbery.
